There are holly leaves on it, but you can also see the white dots on that sprig of holly that Pinkie’t hanging under Spike and Rarity. Those white dots are mistletoe. Seems like it’s a compromise between the people that have grew up with the mistletoe really being holly, and the people that really know what mistletoe is and looks like.
