I understand that Slypon has a style that exaggerates the body details of his characters, I do, but the line art here I feel illustrates a problem I have with his work. The unnecessary extra line detail combined with the cell shading does not give me the feeling that I’m looking at a well toned supple female body but rather something resembling an action figure, with various body parts looking very segmented and sort of “assembled” together like it was built from plastic, like where the leg connects to the hip for example. In his Night Mares comic series I notice it especially, where the characters are drawn to be either cute or sexy but at the same time are outlined and defined by hard jagged lines and have bold lines detailing places on the body that should be soft and have breath to them but instead feel cut dry and plastic-y. This wouldn’t be a problem if the style was being used for say, an action comic or non human characters but this supposed to be erotic work of organic beings. From an aesthetic standpoint the two elements clash together harshly. Less is more and depending on what you’re trying to draw, you don’t need to approach it all with the same hard edge style. I still like the work so far but there is still a ways to go with it.
