The element of honesty tells the truth and therefore declaring herself best pony is no lie. Wake up, Aj has more of a developed personality compared to all of the main six.

Hovewer, none of the fans of other m6 ponies act as bothered about it. And don’t you forget how hostile and elitist AJ fans are to fans of other ponies. I suppose the cause to that is inferiority complex, because deep inside they realize how subpar AJ is, but still want to believe she’s the best.

That is exactly how I feel about Rarity (she’s also greedy) and Rainbow Dash…but that’s just my opinion of it.

Except those are all dumb examples deliberately chosen to avoid the insults that do in fact tend to garner angry responses from fans of those characters. Calling Rarity a shallow fashion-obsessed bitch is what riles her fans; likewise calling Dash a gloryhogging selfish asshole or Fluttershy a useless coward or Twilight an overpowered Mary Sue or Pinkie an oblivious shrieking idiot.
This is weak sauce, son– up your game if you wanna hang.
Except background pony doesn’t refer to how entertaining she is (tons of background ponies are super entertaining), but about how she supposedly has minimal relevance, which is demonstratably false.
That joke is true though. No matter how hard writers try, AJ stays the most boring of the mane 6.
Background pony is the only one of those insults that makes fun of the character’s writing quality instead of an aspect of their personality or appearance.
No, some go along with the joke, some do not.
This is true for all fans of all the ponies.
When someone calls Applejack a background pony, her fans threaten exterminatus on that person.
This is why I despise them.
