I don’t like the contest thing either but eh, artists participate if they want to. Also this guy settles with shipping his oc with a background pony so it’s not that bad. And the art is often quite good quality.
@Yoga is boring
Fair criticisms. Normally I don’t try and defend myself too much, but I would like to state that I do feel bad not every artists gets paid. I won’t be holding any more contests after this, but its not because of the people who disapprove of them. I personally had such I had time picking the first winner in this contest that It caused me deep sadness, not that I claim to be a victim. I just don’t think of myself as a heartless person either.

I plan to stop doing that after today. I rather people comment on the artist quality, not my description ad.
@Kolbjorn
Go team Sparity, but in all seriousness, it’s not the art that is the problem. In fact most of the artists who draw Kydose are quite good. The problem comes from the character of ‘Kydose’ himself as well as the methods used to get all of these Kydose pictures drawn. Problem number one, and the most obvious, is that Kydose represents to a lot of people a stereotypical ‘waifu-thief’ oc’s that show up on occasion. This problem is actually the lesser of the two as, while Kydose is a random waifu thief oc as described above, he does get points for not being an OP’ed, trillion year old, more powerful than all the Princesses and Discord combined, mare magnet of an alicorn. The other, more serious issue is bow the commissioner gets these pictures drawn. Rather than offer small to intermediate amounts of cash to an individual artist to draw his oc, the commissioner offers a large sum of money and a prize in a series of contests where each person enters their drawing and the best artist recieves the prizes and cash and the commissioner gets multiple Kydose pics to use. An after effect, however, is that the commissioner basically got multiple pics for free from the losing artists while only having to pay one artist. Now, no one is bregrudging the artists as the know the risks of entering such a contest and it can be agreed that this method is a very good business strategy but it does rub some people the wrong way that the commissioner is basically dangling money in front of multiple artists who basically do these drawings for free.
@Kolbjorn
That, but mostly people are downvoting for the person behind it, who’s running an art contest (see description) so basically getting all this art made of his OC/Rarity for free just so he can spam it everywhere. At least I’m guessing (I don’t have an account here so don’t vote either way).
That sounds like Rarity overdosing.
Excellent art though! And yeah, I’ll ship it :)
Can’t tell me what to do, bub.
Time to pay a visit to his tag.
:^)

I’d happily upvote if this were just the art, but sadly the links and the description prevent me from doing so.
