Ironically? My LIttle Pony Tales’ final episode actually did a fairly decent job of an eco message. How? By the reveal that there WAS NO big bad at all! Actually USING the fact that the show seemed banned from having antagonists to good use! The mountain of rubbish blocking Ponyville’s Big Pony River and causing a flood were the result of everypony casually adding just a tiny bit to the pile. Not some nature hating lunatic dumping garbage for evil and profit.

Is it just me, or is everyone hating on a good comic?
Not everyone. A comparatively tiny group of people who are so obnoxious about they overly hyperbolic hatred of literally everything the comic does that nobody else bothers trying to voice a positive opinion for fear of being attacked by the assholes who treat their own opinions as if they were holy scripture.
Amen to that. I “dared” to point out how they were judging the villains comics based on a single summary; and got attacked by everyone on the IDW thread AND Niggoslav called me retarded. :(
That’s Niggoslav though. He has the duck badge for a reason ;P
 
Now, all jokes aside (and for the record, my ABANDON THREAD post was meant to be funny more than anything, which is why I used the Furry Force gif to begin with), but to everyone’s credit I think people are just really reluctant to trust the whole “save the environment” preach plot because that plotline has been done to death and is very rarely done well. Especially when they pull the elf stand-ins out of the bag, because that tends to cheapen the whole moral as well as annoy the shit out of a lot of readers when the elves act like complete pompous superior jerks. There’s a reason TV Tropes has like three different articles that trash on them; they piss a lot of people off.

How many carriages would there honestly be? There are not that many princesses and probably not that many nobles or average ponies with carriages? And at that point would it not be redundant? I mean the carriages are pulled by ponies for ponies. And one third of them could fly. Not exactly a great source of demand for an Equestria’s largest parking lot.

That plotline is never done right, dude. And Secret of Nimh is a rare example of that plot done well and in an entertaining manner; not to be compared to that other chaff.
 
(Though sexy smog voiced by Tim Curry did earn Ferngully a few points, even if just for the song)
