Please tell me that you’re not just straight-up ASSUMING that all (or even most) and not just a some of the people who are against Antia’s bullshittery are somehow plagued to the bone with some form of “dEeP sEaTeD mIsOgInY”, because if you are, then there’s just no question about it that you are an absolutely phenomenal jackass.
Wow. I know I’m 5-6 years late on this, but it’s seriously amazing seeing how pathetic you are.
Yes, yes you are.
She disagrees with the modern movement on some points and is therefore generally considered a heretic/not a real feminist/evil/triggering/we need play-doh.
I’d love to see Lauren Faust meeting Christina Hoff Sommers.
That’s what came up in my head when I read your post.
Cheers.
Sadly…yes…
Japan taught me that some things make more sense with alcohol.
Why can’t you be nice?
Oh, pardon me for making the obvious mistake and equating “boy power” with masculinity.
Oh come on, this is true of any online movement about anything. Here’s anti-GG: http://gamergateharassment.tumblr.com/
If you dug up Ferguson protesters online, you could do the same thing. Or Darren Wilson supporters. Or environmentalists. Or Republicans. Or the social justice movement, generally. Or…probably Disney fans, somewhere or other. If you judge a movement based on its worst members online, you’re always going to find something highly objectionable that can be used to discredit. When one side of the argument spends most of its time complaining about how terrible the people on the other side are, perhaps it’s more telling about the alternate side.
About 1-2% of the population are sociopaths. If you have a Facebook group for a local ordinance regarding potholes which gathers 1,000 supporters, ~10 of them are going to be sociopaths. If one of them (or for that matter someone else) were to write to the mayor to get rid of the potholes or (s)he’ll fucking kill him/her, the argument for the pothole ordinance doesn’t change.
I’m not even a GGer really but this strikes me as a dumb argument I’m seeing used more and more.
Late but lmao if you think Joss Whedon has watched a single second of Tropes vs. Women.
Who said anything about “masculinity” as you’re describing it? I was talking about boys, thank you very much. I don’t give a rip about the machismo of popular sports, and the idea of “girl power” is no less dumb than a chest thumping jock.
Gridiron football involves 30 6-foot tall he-men smashing into each other over and over again. It is the single most popular sport in the US, and the NFL is a dominant cultural force here. It has been for decades. American culture is so incredibly enamored with masculinity (between our armed forces and athletics and popular media) I’m shocked anyone seriously thinks it’s in danger.
My jaw has hit the floor after that…I didn’t even think women like those even existed, such a shame they have to associate themselves with feminists considering the stigma that comes with the name.
Judging by his previous photos and appearances he seems the sort not typically affected by this sort of nagging.
Even actual feminists agree that that was some real bullshit there!
You’re off your rocker if you think Wilson is guilty of “police brutality,” but that really has nothing to do with any of this.
The guy had no reason to apologize. It’s a shirt and ,might I mention, a woman made it.
If we can allow women to walk around with menstrual bleeding shirts, with fingering mind you, with giant vaginas on it, a man can wear a shirt with women on it in Shadowrun type leather suits.
…what he said. I got nothing. You have out-weirded me, Krawczyk.
Everything still looks the same on that front. Pigs shoot innocents, get away clean and even if convicted of this or worse which takes DOZENS of repeat cases and clear and actual collusive evidence they get a softhanded pat on the rear and retire with full honours and pension. It is clearly just too broken to fix without a total nationwide revolution.
Essentially we need the late 60s to happen again, and this time for the public and national guard to not back down. The police have shown time and again they too need to be policed just as strictly. Campbell, MainEvent, and Felix appear to feel similarly, the media war is one that can be won, the war on the law still has too citizens many whom blindly put trust in it. The media isn’t even backing them aside from the usual suspects, and yet they are still unassailable.
(It also does help that media personalities are not offered the same restrictive access about their public records pigs are)
You think Gamersgate is more important than police brutality?
What exactly does the NFL have to do with anything?
