We need to change that planet’s name to end that stupid joke once and for all.
Edited
Read it. I agree with the last bit:
In other news: Pluto is a dark, frozen rock in the outer recesses of our solar system and does not care in the least how we classify it.
I do not mind the fact that we have 8 planets evenly split by the Asteroid Belt. I’ve though that Pluto was weird, not in the endearing way. More like a “something’s missing”.
Now, it’s among others like itself and even has a category named after it: Plutoids.
One thing we should all agree on however is that there are no longer 9 planets in the Sol system.
Doesn’t really matter though. You’re more than welcome to google more results.
No.
A popular vote by a viewing audience doesn’t mean a damn thing. Science is not a democracy; it’s not about a bunch of people of whatever qualifications taking a vote on reality.
This is wishful thinking on the part of people still butthurt about something so trivial.

Pluto is a planet again. Sorta.
You can google it to read more. But to give you a tl;dr version, it follows the rules to classify something as a planet. HOWEVER, two of the three rules are being followed, but the third rule is questionable.
What do you mean it’s a planet now?
Pluto is a planet now. And yes, I’m aware you commented on this four months ago.
What in particular would be the implications in the first case?
Dang, I was hoping someone would get that joke.
Thank you. Someone who ISN’T mired by a resistance to change.
This planet demotion has happened before. Case in point: Ceres used to be classified as one until what is now known as the Asteroid Belt is discovered. Pluto has more in common with the objects in the Kuiper Belt than everything else with the planet label. Plus, we’ve at least formally defined the criteria for being a planet is and Pluto falters at the third criteria.
It’s not about the Pluto argument(Personally, I also still count Pluto). It’s just that Neptune would commit suicide if she found out someone killed Uranus.(That would be inevitable, considering their relationship)
Exactly my thoughts.
Also, scary Rarity is best Rarity.
