Kind of? The one who really came with the makeup is this guy, Arthur Brown.
He’s from the 1960’s and some of you might know that only song from him named “Fire”. He pioneered that term of a genre called “shock rock”. He influenced a whole bunch of later artists such as Alice Cooper, Kiss, Twisted Sister, Marilyn Manson, King Diamond, etc. The Norwegian black metal bands called their own “corpsepaint”.
Also Kiss and Alice Cooper kinda pioneered the look back in the 70’s so I don’t really see what the problem with that is.
