Really, it all depends what sort of season it is. If its like Season 4, I can absolutely guarantee the spell will be specifically acknowledged, probably even with Rainbow chiming in for another gryphon request.
Considering we now know what a 5 year old filly looks like, and Spike is waaay older than that, hatching around the time the Mane 6 were that age…… yea I think he would be around early mature stallion, just only a lil smaller.
