Some sources say that record actually belongs to the “World of Warcraft” movie. (That I forgot exists.)  
Though, Sonic was still quite successful, and surprisingly popular with the Sonic fanbase, (and you know how hard they are to unanimously please) and casual viewers. So much, a sequel was already greenlit months ago, and Jim Carry even says he’ll reprise Robotnik/Eggman.

I liked it, and even though it uses that cliché plotline of, “X character gets transported to earth” story, (though in Sonic’s case it kinda works better) it luckily averts that annoying “human-focused adaptation” trope, (that plagued stuff like the newer Smurfs & Transformers movies) and Sonic feels like the main character, is a hilarious, and amusing hero. Jim Carry is a surprisingly good Robotnik too.  
So if you’re a Sonic fan, you might like it.

They’re blue in the movie version too. Surprised nobody complained about that. (I guess the new movie redesign was so much better then the old one, Sonic fans were fine with overlooking that.)

I never had issue with the Mega Evolution honestly. And actually, some liked the 3DS Sonic Boom games, especially “Fire and Ice.”

As far as Sonic Boom goes, I think the TV series could have made it at least another season or two if the first game hadn’t been such a notorious failure that merely being associated with it was enough to doom the whole series.
 
Also, Sonic’s arms look better blue. Fight me. (Please don’t actually fight me, I don’t want to go to the hospital. It’s expensive.)

Sonic Boom the tv show was ok. The games where bad.
 
As for Charizard… eh. it was a mega evolution and they stopped that.

Granted, after the Twilicorn drama, alot of fans started to accept it, and same with Sonic Boom. (At least, fans accepted the TV series.)  
Dunno about the Charizard thing.

This aged well

I never hated Charizard X. No, I instantly loved him.
 
I didn’t hate Twilicorn either.
 
And I don’t care for Sonic so I’ve no idea what happened.

I think Mark the Tapir was just poking fun at “fandumb” in general, not just him. (They even seemed to parody Stephen King’s “Misery” a bit too.) I’ve seen many crazy fans out there with similar opinions to Chris Chan actually.
 
The MLP episode “Stranger then Fanfiction” also seemed to poke fun at the fandom too. (I laughed my head off at the bodypillow that creeped out Dashie.) Even the way Dashie was bugging Daring Do’s book author about how another pony’s opinion is wrong, seemed to be.

They could say that they were poking fun at Chris Chan, but they love their job.

I guess if you look at Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, ect. they never really had “flesh-colored” arms either to begin with. Sonic, and a few female characters were the only exception.
 
The show actually did a few jokes about that “issue.”

Am I the only one who thinks the blue arms look better/more natural on Sonic than the standard pink ones?

A li’l too graphic there, dude… But I agree, I wish it was more of an “action comedy show” like older Sonic cartoons. (Even the goofy AoStH had it’s “serious/suspenceful/action” moments.) I do hear a newer multi-part episode was a li’l more serious, and action-packed though.
 
And yeah, the in-jokes for older Sonic fans are a hoot.

I remember on hating the Sonic Boom cartoon show just for being different compare to every other action adventure of Sonic himself. Eventually, I’ve taken the like of this show for its comedy and constant poking at the Sonic fanbase. The only gripe I have is if they only focus on the comedy and not mix it together with action because holy crap, the action and fighting in this show feels like having sex with a hot chick for five seconds before you cum.

I’m okay with the Twilight, I have no opinions on the other two :3

To be fair, several characters including Shadz are going to be in the game “Lego Dimensions.”  
So Sonic being in isn’t just a brief cameo, nor just a bare bones Lego “Green Hill Zone” level like I thought.

I saw a Sonic Halloween costume in the store today. He may have alot of haters, but surprisingly still many casual fans too.

This thing about Mega Charizard X and Boom Sonic is that the former is a temporary alt form, and the latter is an AU.  
They are as unrelated to eachother as they are to Alicorn Twilight.

Princess Twilight Sparkle and Sonic from Sonic Boom I understand (although I think the Sonic Franchise seems to still be hated), but why Mega Charizard X? I thought everybody loved him at first, it was Charizard Y that was the least fave (I think some people would of forgotten it, I keep forgetting it)
