That has to be one of the most awkward smiles I’ve seen. Looks extremely forced to me. His front legs are at an angle, rather than straight, so his body language suggests he’s backing away from her.
 
I just don’t see infidelity in this pic. He looks like he wants out the situation.

Everything in canon points to Shining Armor as fully devoted to his wife, who responds in kind, but plenty of fans have the mindset that “of course he’d never turn down a mare wiggling her flanks at him, marriage be damned!”
