When it comes to their relationship, yeah, in the show it doesn’t really seem like he went home with Twilight the day he hatched, to be raised by her (she was the equivalent of a third-grader then anyway!) But… isn’t this comic the sweetest thing? Would you really want it to be different?

If she did, then I wouldn’t have to wish for it, would I? She’s never said “you’re more important to me than just as my Number One Assistant”. Even her remarks in “Owl’s Well That Ends Well” and “The Crystal Empire” revolve around how he’s “irreplaceable as a employee” and how she “would always need him” as a secretary… not that she loves him and likes having him as a part of her life. I wish it wasn’t that way, but it is.
