It’s probably that and another sort of trait of dragons that leads people to it.
Certainly, for one I imagine dragons would be warm blooded, if not hot blooded. (Haha it’s puny) Not having a cloaca is probably because people adapted things simply for more appealing porn. (I wouldn’t be at all surprised)

Well yeah it’s all folklore and mythology but they’ve always struck me as having somewhat reptilian traits.
They don’t actually exist, but who knows what group they’d technically go into. The only thing that can be said for sure with most depictions of dragons is that they don’t have cloacas. Especially since they usually mix mammalian traits and reptilian ones.
