I am playing devil’s advocate though, I have sonic on my watch list, not to downvote but to keep an eye out for actual gems worth up voting. The stuff you posting as an example of good sonicxMLP and the upvotes they get are a reflection of it. However, outside of the true haters and trolls, it boils down to quantity and quality of art, some of us know the potential STH x MLP but sticking to the same old shipping over and over again is tiresome to see 80% of the images. Artists need to step up the game: something funny, adventurous, creative and fresh. Sometimes even ill-received concepts can be overlooked if the art style is appealing. And sorry to say the artist style here just doesn’t look appealing enough regardless it being sonic or not, hope he could polish the style, practice anatomy more or try a different approach but doing the same thing of paired up shipping is not going change the outcome.
 
There are artists that check the scores here, noting what appeals, refine and polish with what works or not and improves or uses a different approach and than you have those who are stuck on doing the same thing and style because “you hating on my crossover, so I’ll keep doing the same thing, haters!” Type of attitude. It’s rather counter-productive and doesn’t help improving as an artist.

This shipping started around the time Ponibooru was still up. One post of Sonic and BAM!!! INSTANT HATE! It really disappoints me that people can tolerate shippings that don’t makes sense like DanXPinkie (Human and Pony) But not SonicXRainbow (Anthro Hedgehog and Rainbow Pegasus). There’s just no logic or sense in hating it. It’s not a Bestiality ship. They’re both Characters who are very similar to eachother by how they are in personalities, skills, interests, and heroic acts.
 
Seeing that MLP and STH are the top franchises that people like. Stuff like this was BOUND to happen.

Downvotes are to be expected due to the haters of this ship, but still, doesn’t excuse the poor anatomy in this and past images from this artist.
 
Know on this site, there are a lot of Sonic haters and crossover haters as well that are going to downvote just because, but will that be the only excuse not try a bit harder on improving the anatomy?

There some decent sonic/MLP fan art just really hard to find.

There has to be, somewhere, artists that can draw sonic well.

I know trolling is one thing, but art trolling because people don’t like you shipping couple? Now it’s getting sad…
 
Just focus on doing proper anatomy since now the art is just down to troll bait levels and THAT’S… NO GOOD!
