We don’t pity Derpy, she is a klutz but she brings something to the table.
 
She has a job so she always pays her share of the drinks (and sometimes even pays a round for her buddies), her upbeat personality never lets the mood die, she doesn’t gossip, she doesn’t rant about her job or about anything really, she bakes muffins for her friends every other week. All in all she is a blast to be around.
 
Derpy is a g00d friend, just a little mildly severely more autistic than most ponies.

Don’t worry guys, I am sure that Derpy’s self-esteem is already so low that insults can’t actually affect her anymore. So she lets her friends vent on her so that she can feel useful.
