That sounds something like Peach and Peppermink in part 57…
I mean, where applicable, I do draw on real experience for my writing.
(Not that I have had ANYTHING like the sort of sex life I portray in the comic, but you can take little bits and pieces here and there. This latest episode is also unlike anything in my life…but many individual bits are adapted and remixed from my own experience into something entirely new)
But that was more two bottoms figuring out how to have a nice time. I’m referring to a former partner long ago telling me “I want you to dominate me. Pull on my collar and make me yours. My only limit is when you bite me…and do it HARD, try not to make me bleed…at least not much…” And since the character I’m most like is Smoothie, my response was more or less “Err…I’ll do my best…” while internally going “aaaaaah oh crap oh crap I have no idea what the hell I am doing…help!”

There is a difference between BDSM and exploitation/abuse.
I at least hope I’ve showed the difference. I’ve tried to portray what started as her just bossing him around as blossoming into her genuinely caring about his happiness and comfort…which just happens to involve bossing him around because he likes that.
Not making him do something he genuinely doesn’t want to is a key part of that. Though of course, if being dommed is your thing, then the fact of being ordered to do something can make you enjoy something that you might not otherwise…and wow, that headspace is complicated.
(believe it or not, while I do like aggressive/assertive partners, I’m not actually a sub or anything, and when I have been put in a position where I have been asked to dom, I have been…not good at it at all. But apparently I have investigated the headspace enough to do a passable job writing it? At least my friends who ARE into that say I do.)

I still hold the theory that Peach’s mom is well-aware of these little asides Adagio has been making and she’s overheard Adagio talking to Peach when they thought she was out of earshot. So some of these comments and questions she’s been making have been intended to needle Adagio into dropping the facade she’s putting up.
My next theory is that Adagio, after her self-talk here, will open the bathroom door to find Peach’s mom about to knock, saying she “just wanted to make sure Adagio was okay” and wasn’t feeling ill or something. But she overheard Adagio’s entire monologue in there. And Adagio was talking to herself, saying the parts “Sonata” was saying out loud (most of them, at least).
Peach’s mom is going to either reveal this or speak in such a way the shows it without saying it outright. But after this, Adagio is now on the right track with Peach’s mom. That Adagio actually cares about Peach and wants to make him happy is all Peach’s mom wants to know. That she’s not just using and/or abusing him.

This conversation is why I consider Sonata to be the heart of the group. They usually follow Adagio’s orders, but if Sonata isn’t happy, they don’t do it, no matter what.
Adagio is the leader, but Sonata is the conscience. Maybe she wasn’t always, but these days…

I agree. It’s nice to see imaginary thought bubble Sonata is having a good time whilst imparting sage advice on her sister.
Maybe next time she can show up before her sisters damage the bathroom, though.
