Well, she does put “Game of Thrones” in quote marks…
>I read all of the “Game of Thrones” books
There is only one Game of Thrones book! If Twilight was truly a fan she would correctly refer to them as the Song of Ice and Fire books!
The book, as I noted before, is radically different from the movie; it’s a collection of related short stories rather than a full-fledged novel, and has only a few characters, a couple of scenes, and the Three Laws of Robotics in common with the movie. It’s an excellent (and reasonably quick) read, probably my favorite of Isaac Asimov’s books, just don’t expect it to be like the movie.
(I like the movie too, in a smarter-than-usual summer-blockbuster way, though I do prefer the book.)
I still need to read I, Robot because I liked that movie when it came out.
Damnit! I must be more tired than I realised. Yes, you are correct, as it was I, Robot the book I was referring to. Sorry for the mistake.
Actually, Blade Runner was the adaptation of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?; I, Robot supposedly adapted the book of the same name, but it ranks up there with Who Framed Roger Rabbit and The Secret of NIMH in terms of how far it strayed from the source material.
Nope, I was referring to the “adaption” of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, I, Robot. Sure, it was a fine movie on its own, but it sure-as-shit wasn’t Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, hence why I consider it a less than stellar adaption.
Yeah.
And the “less than stellar adaptation”. I’m making a random guess… were you referring to the Hunger Games?
Unfortunate, but understandable, since it’s a TV show we’re talking about here (in that they have a seasonal budget that they have to spread over ‘x’ number of episodes)
The only things I can remember from GoT that were kind of upsetting to book readers were a couple of battles that had to be cut down for budget purposes.
Don’t worry, I can do both…even if the adaption is *ahem* less than stellar.
I haven’t read either ASoIaF or watched Game of Thrones, but from all accounts of my friends, both are really good.
>”ok so its wedding time, i’m glad that they’re together without any hitches along the way.”
<que rains of castamere>
>”oh shit….welp better find another fandom”
Yeah, that should probably read “all ‘Song of Ice and Fire’ books” :x
WTF ARE YOU DOING?
I’m allowed to post a gif expressing my views on it, doesn’t mean I’m trying to convert you.
Like that’s gonna convince me. “Hey I read this book, I’m so awesome and inteligent!”
inb4 “I’m laughing, not convincing”
