Yea. It’s crazy, but M. A. Larson actually wrote other episodes, which is something the fandom has seemed to completely forgotten about ever since the season 3 finale.
 
Really, if I were to say why MMC wasn’t the best episode, it was because it was rushed. MMC seriously need to be a two-parter, and with the musical numbers fitting in and the plot points, it probably would have made a great episode. Even then, I think it’s good, but rushed. I don’t hate Alicorn Twilight (it’s still Twilight, people), and I love how the writers showed that she wasn’t just all of a sudden totally acceptant of her new role, having doubts on what it means to be a princess. And honestly, if Lauren Faust’s original idea of Celestia and Luna being Queens panned out, I think people would have complained less than how it actually turned out.
 
I just hate it when people say that M. A. Larson’s a bad writer or that he wants to make everyone an alicorn. He wrote good, even great episodes, and he merely wrote MMC, meaning he had no control over the actual story other than the pacing, which could have been easily fixed by making MMC a two-parter.

Considering how significant a change that would be, I doubt it was the decision of a single person. And was most likely a directive from Hasbro. Larson was just the writer saddled with taking the concept and building it into a story.

Hard to believe the one who made Twilight an Alicorn also wrote one of the best episodes of the series

These are well drawn, but I honestly don’t like titlecards with MLP; they just seem out of place in this series.
