As for my country… I don’t remember/know if Russia at any point had much G2. Just MacDonald’s toys (ofc European version (as there were two variants, USA had another), that is, despite 90s being the time when any foreign companies could come (and G1 had official magazine since 1993 (plus cartoon was dubbed, unfortunately only as tv series, so special episodes were ‘censored’/edited (worldwide). G3, on the other hand, was full on any sorts of merchandise, all kinds of toys, cartoon’s dub…

Funny, 1998 is my birth year so I could be a G2’s fan if there’d be more of it here. Instead, kids grew up with G1, G3, G4…

It has a PC video game called Friendship Gardens by Atari, yes, CD audio stories and magazines with lore (UK + Europe).

G2 ‘failed’ only in USA, Europeans loved and still love collecting these horses.

Every generation included, makes me feel warm :3

IIRC, it has more to do with the fact that it never received an animated adaptation (it’s the only MLP generation to have that distinction), and the collectors didn’t like how spindly the toys’ legs were (apparently they easily broke). That’s just what I remember reading

I do think it got a computer game, though

Did the ponies on G2 not have magic? I always wondered why it’s the dark horse (get it?) of the franchise
