2/3 of founders liked Derpy over Trixie. The site’s default theme (shades of blue and white) and the favicon were a compromise. Admittedly this is confusing, but the site at the time was just a proof of concept for booru software to be adopted by a different site, and not really meant to “go live”.

Really fitting for the last featured image of 2023. Why is it called Derpibooru when Trixie is the mascot anyways?
