Also, Sunny is only a “part-time” alicorn. Maybe when she has put in as much work as the other background pony mentioned she will get her wings and horn full-time? Flesh and blood instead of “hard light”.

Twilight had to defeat an evil pony goddess and equestrian Satan, go through nightmarish places, fight terrible creatures, fix ancient spells and learn to trust others (as an introvert) to become an alicorn.

Sunny just had to wait for an unicorn to arrive to her, escape the ponice, steal stuff, lie, dance and survive a “giant” robot throwing mucus at her house.

Sunny had it easier that twilight.
