I thought it was them trying to escape through a portal and losing control of it. Still surprised me though.
Yeah getting swallowed by the static was one thing. Watching a pony decapitate themselves with a portal was completely out of the blue for me.
she reversed the fuzz, and it seemed to “regurgitate” the ground, but i don’t remember any of the starlights being restored. not to say it didn’t happen, but it’s not all that clear it did.

That was barely coherent, but since you mentioned time travel; the time travel part was after she pulled the static back away from the crowd, so what I said still happened, even if on a different timeline.
no if she reversed time itself then it be that well she still be alive or both are dead, thats how werid time tralver is at times
the main starlight reversed the fuzz and they all came back.
And now the left one got un-fuzzed and saw the decapitated corpse of the right one.
