I’m a Pony Appledash shipper, and I’m an EG Rarijack shipper, so I partially agree with you.
 
While AJ and Rarity were always the “odd couple” trope. (As in the comedy), I’m not sure if Pony Aj and Rarity had any ‘two seconds away from kissing’ moments, even though they had good chemistry. Another factor was in-show Rarity had a couple of potential romantic interests.
 
EG Rarity and AJ though…by the end of the series they basically hit every single rom-com flag beyond the final epiphany of them looking dumbfounded and realizing “holy shit we ARE in love aren’t we?”

Since this comment was considered off topic, am I allowed to say that Rarity would be jealous of Rainbow Dash for this? Is that also Rule #6 breaking? Hopefully not. That was the intent of my comment, I didn’t mean to break the rules.
