That would make more sense. Considering that having a bunch of huge adult dragons in the general vicinity of each other is just asking for trouble.

It’s also never directly said, but the general supposition is that adult dragons don’t normally live in the Dragon Lands, they just go there to bone during the Great Migration, while teen dragons hang around doing The Lord of the Flies before leaving themselves after a couple of centuries. That’s why Ember is Smolder’s parental guardian, apart from being Lord of the Dragons, which itself is another way of saying “leader of a bunch of hatchlings whose parents ditched them and left them in an entire fucking piece of territory because dragons are a bunch antisocial miscreants”. :D

Not really. I think those are the eldest dragons, like Torch. They’re just millennia old dragons who have grown to the greatest of sizes.
 
Then again, greed could play a role in their size since the hoard the dragon in Dragonshy had was huge. The biggest dragons might be the ones with the biggest hoards.

i believe those are greed dragons, then again when they introduced garble and friends they sorta dropped the big dragons from season 1

But based on ‘Dragonshy’ don’t they all eventually turn into kaijuu?
