Well for checking words, I’d tend to use an actual dictionary (published hardcopy ones do still exist, ya know :P)
As for fact-checking online, first rule of checking facts - always verify sources. I’ve heard of stuff being included on Wikipedia citing sources elsewhere, but those sources cited the Wikipedia article that cited them. You need to watch out for circular citations and other such problems. xD
I’m not seeing anything that says it’s one-or-the-other.

How do you suppose we can check anything then ?
To be fair, checking the validity of a word by googling it doesn’t necessarily hold water.
Many words are used online while being incorrect/slightly misspelt - the internet has never been 100% proof-read, after all. :)
Just watch out for the pointy bit on Unicorns/Alicorns. ^^
Judging by a quick googling, ‘snuggable’ seems to be a valid form.

I wholly agree with both of these points.
One, it’s snugglable! As in, able to be snuggled. (The comparison to huggable is misleading, as that is able to be hugged, not huggled).
Two, you’re completely and utterly correct! *violently snuggles the adorable Lyra pone*
