Then you’re doing it with yourself, of course. And if you’re into that, they’ll notice and turn into a random wrinkly old fart.

Or just never piss one off. They’ll quietly hold on to that anger, then when you’re doing it, surprise! You’re now doing it with your grandpa!
I don’t think he’s “not attracted to females”, but that his friendship with Spike supersedes it. I could also only count this as something Spike would do if the coco images were canon and this is his manner of repayment.
I think Thorax would find Rarity pretty, but not make any moves on her since she’s taken, and by his best friend, no less. But since he has permission from Spike, a friendly enough relationship with her, and a genuine desire to cheer her up (and Spike, by proxy), he’s definitely going for it. If you wanna go by fanon, then the pic Pia made of him and Pharynx double-teaming Chrysalis means he can be attracted to females.

On a side note, this is peculiar… Mainly because Thorax would want to be with Spike, not Rarity.
