Regardless if she did get power again, chances are she’d be using it for evil again, so she’s not as powerless, and childish as she pretends.
 
Petrification is probably a lighter punishment then what Sombra, and the Storm King got.

I don’t think half the fanbase pretends she’s an angel at all, most fans pointed out that there are villains in the past seasons that have done far worse and not been petrified. Luna comes to mind.
 
While I not saying that Cozy doesn’t deserve her punishments but it’s still hypocritical that a powerless school-age filly got the worst punishments. Cozy might be evil but she is the weakness villain of the show.

True, and Starlight too, though her’s weren’t exactly lethal. (Maybe she was holding back, as she probably didn’t actually want to kill Twilight, despite wanting revenge.)
 
Not many other ponies seem capable of blasting each other to smithereens, most unicorns can do no more them telepathy/levitation, or using their horn as a flashlight.

To be honest, this may or may not be “Quitter’s Talk,” but I’ll admit, I’m not sure I’d really know how to uh… get to scaling either of them with Equestrians, at all.
 
It’s not like we had a handy prodigious unicorn to scale either Midnight Sparkle or Daydream Shimmer with (or Sunset in the 1st one), by any means, or alicorns, in terms of “Midnight Sparkle handily defeated Twilight Sparkle in a magic duel, or Sombra,” and so on, same for Sunset.
 
I mean, maybe you can say that “tearing apart the fabric of reality” is sort of akin to things that Discord can do (like opening a portal to that one dimension, as a threat to Tree Hugger), but that’s… not quite conclusive, in my opinion.
 
I’ll fully admit, EQG is not something I’ve put much thought into how power scaling might go, by any means, because it just doesn’t seem like an intuitive task to me, even more so than trying to come up with how the power scale totem goes with Equestrians might not be, when “power levels” generally don’t even matter that much anyway, as far as the show goes, and you arguably have some leeway to begin with.

After that screencap that comparison image showed, on Twilight’s part, it grew much bigger than that.
 
Why would Cozy Glow benefit that much more from being boosted by Grogar’s bell than either Chrysalis and Tirek, who were both included in the boosting ritual, and who’re probs more powerful to start with, and Tirek didn’t have his “4th form” appearance, after?
 
If anything, it’s indicative of Cozy being the type to let the power get to her head and wantonly throw her newfound weight around, revel in it, like a proverbial baby rattlesnake (I say “proverbial” because IIRC that’s a myth, but you get the point). Not to mention how Twilight had shielded one of her attacks earlier without any real difficulty, which doesn’t add up with “4 alicorns strong.”
 
_{As for something that came to mind, if a fight between Alicorn Cozy and Sombra hypothetically happened, I’d put my money on Sombra, because at best, Cozy’s a little more powerful than he is, but his repertoire is larger, her being as new to casting magic as she is, and I’m not sure she could do anything at all to counter his fear/mind control magic, or him turning his body into a living shadow, and his crystals… Sombra’s rather dangerous.} But anyway, I don’t think you can conclusively say “Cozy Glow is definitely more powerful than Sombra was,” at all.
 
It’s like saying “Starlight is definitely > four alicorns” based on when she blasted Discord in AMOP, when she lost to Sombra (who was beaten by Celestia and Luna), and Chrysalis (this two-parter), and was plainly less powerful than Cozy Glow (the latter beat her in a beam struggle, this two-parter, you can see from the briefly portrayed fight).

If you’ll recall, it was actually a plot point that Cozy Glow and the others couldn’t get Celestia and Luna’s magic out of the bell, because Discord’s magic was problematic to deal with, and the Bell operates under the rule of “first in, first out” And you can conclusively see that Cozy Glow didn’t get the Royal Sisters’ magic when they got their magic back from Discord returning it to them from the Bell, not from Cozy (or the other two) losing her powers from the Gigantic Rainbow Laser.

She doesn’t. The animators just made it like that. Celestia and Luna’s magic was in the bell, Twilight still had her magic, and none of the villains thought of going to see Cadence or Flurry. She still has the magic of one alicorn.
