That may be, and I don’t claim to be an expert on any particular Asian culture, but I do know in places like Korea there’s a thing where people are doing the fang thing because they consider it cute/sexy. The motive behind it may depend on the region/culture and may or may not have anything to do with the people you’re talking about. From what I heard, the Korean thing is caused more because of a growing fascinating with some kind of little gremlin anime characters or something like that. There was a name for the little demon things but I can’t remember it. It’s a popculture thing.
 
I vaguely remember this being a thing for some other country as well.

I like to think it’s a cosmetic thing. Some Asian countries are doing this more often. Some literally file their teeth but that’s a bit too far. Could just be a cute clip on.

Those are some rather suspicious fangs.
