A lot of robots in sci-fi have backups. Some even transmit their consciousness right before their body get destroyed so they are instantly revived in a new body or computer and wait until a new copy of their body is constructed.

Robots breakdown, rust and their programming gets corrupted. The chemical bonds of plastics break and it degrades over time, glass gets scratched and breaks. Not even robots last forever.
Imagine missing the point this bad.

Every family has that problem
Big family, old family, strong line, but they gotta die sometime.
