Curious, look at Luna’s face in the last panel. Now based on the question, Luna’s face in the last panel, and her asking Molestia “do you want me to stop”, is this subtly implying that off-screen Twilight and Luna are having sex?

More than anything, I think both their demeanors are driven by plot (No pun intended). He shifts them to suit the joke being told. Even Molestia is sometimes show being seriously caring and kindhearted (Like the one where she carries Scootaloo on her back because Scoots can’t fly), and at other times her only defining trait is her molestery (The one where she appears in the mirror after the CMC chants her name three times).

I think the prudery was a later development, when he went with Gamer Luna and wanted to distance her from Molestia.

I never get JJ though. Sometimes he writes Luna as prudish and unwilling to engage in any kind of sexual activity and then there’s this stuff.
