I know its too late to pull off and the show won’t end this way but: I always wanted to see Celestia and Luna pass the torch onto Twilight because they have slowly been losing their powers.
 
In retrospect this is exactly how the show ended.

See, if i were in Twilights position i would two either one of two things:
 
One. Permanent self exile. my life had been a lie. did wonderful things with everyone around me only to find out that it was going to be taken advantage of. As much as a dick move it would be to my friends, i would leave.
 
Two. (Just a tiny bit more violent) Start a revolution. Want me to play my part do you? LOL alright then! Your head will be on a spike on my soon to be throne of equestria, Then YOU will play your new part!
