My grandma was born in the camps immediately after liberation and my great-grandmother just barely survived them. Her sister wasn’t so lucky and she died in the killing fields. The things my great-grandmother went through were so horrific she would just lock up any time someone asked her about them, she couldnt even talk about it. The trauma was that bad. Her whole family was killed and she was the only one left. My grandmother is still alive and talking to her, no she has the same view everyone else does. There’s a reason people hate naziism; it’s based off sadistic hatred for others and that in and of itself is worth every bit of despising it gets
 
“It has grown out of proportion”? No, I dont think people hate Naziism enough as it is. Nothing about the Nazis was romantic or virtuos at all, just a purely evil person who spurred on the predjudices of the people of the country. If you weren’t for the Nazi party, you were against it. And don’t you know what they did to those opposed to them? They put them in murder and torture camps where those who survived almost wished they didn’t.
 
There is nothing romantic about that. Nothing even close to redeemable.
 
I didn’t feel the original gif needed to be associated with Nazis because there’s plenty of “aryan” people who arent nazis. But that doesnt mean I don’t vehemently condemn nazi ideals

The complaint was about the fact that today’s people, who never even lived under Nazism (or even under any actual oppressive regime) are shitting their pants harder at any sign of anything potentially tangentially related to Nazis than the people who actually had to deal and fight against them.

I defy you to justify the actions effects and actions of Nazis and their ideological counterparts in the past and present.
 
And, lest we forget, these actions include the enslavement and intentional murder of over 17,000,000 people by soldiers of the Waffen-SS, an organization specifically dedicated to Nazism, as well as various acts of violence by other far-right groups, including, but definitely not limited to, the KKK and other white nationalist groups.

Nazism has grown from despicable in the 30-60, to bogeyman in the 70-2000, to outright religious taboo past 2010.
 
It has grown so out of proportion, I’m starting to wonder if mythological characters like Satan/Lucifer/whatever didn’t start as just some random dude who stole a chicken once or some thing like that, and then their reputation kept growing more and more ridiculous over centuries until they got portrayed as the incarnation of all evil.
 
Funnily we got that in the show too with Nightmare Moon. 1000 years after the fact history books portrayed her as some foal-eating demon that would destroy the world, but the actual Nightmare Moon victory timeline was among the least worst alternative reality Glimmer created.

If you look at the original artists work you’ll notice that some of it IS nazi related to be completely fair, and the OC is apparently luftkrieg or whatever the name is, though there’s not exactly much identifying features to indicate that outside of trying to find that information yourself
