eh ive seen worse, this is tame

I feel your comparisons are right. I’ve gotten water up my nose when swimming (and even in the shower). It wasn’t fun but I was perfectly fine a few seconds later.

it would be the same as getting pool water in your nose or mouth
Maybe there was too much of a certain element in it, like sulfur, leading to an effect similar to what happens when you open your eyes in a chlorinated pool
I just assumed sulfur was like chlorine to them
