When the guy said said MLP animation canon, I thought he was referring to the series that revolves around the ponies.
Which means Sunset has never been in it or mentioned.
You do know that I mean that Sunset has never been seen or heard about in the MLP series.

Except that was part of Equestria Girls. Not the original series.
Sunset did become a pony and visit Equestria in Forgotten Friendship.
But Tempest has been mentioned in the show. You can’t say the same for Sunset who has never been part of the show in any way, shape or form.
Over the years that’s been something that’s the show’s quality has made me forget from time to time.
