Keep an eye out for Tirek’s line in the middle of Neighsay’s lines, and all the shots of Cozy Glow standing next to Neighsay during his triumphs. That’s what I’m talking about.

The trailer of the second half showcased things such as spike defeating the roc and left no real surprises other than cozy glow throwing Neighsay under the proverbial bus.

There were fake clues scattered throughout Season 8 that Cozy Glow was in league with Neighsay, like her appearing when Rarity wonders how Flim and Flam got the book, her racism in What Lies Beneath, and how she appears standing next to Neighsay during all his triumphs in the trailer. And also how Neighsay talks in the trailer, then we hear Tirek say “Seems my little plan worked after all” while Neighsay is still on the screen, and then Neighsay speaks again, making it seem like Neighsay was the one who said it, to make us think Neighsay had a “plan” to do something, and since it “worked”, he had something to do with what was going on.

Misleading? It wasn’t misleading in the slightest, it showed everything happening through the season and even outright paraded around molt down. There were no secrets by the time the teaser aired.
 
If you mean the season 7 opener, Celestial advice, then yes that was cleverly done.

This is allegedly happening in the season opener along with the destruction of the tree of harmony.
 
We’ll have the full season to see what happens. Probably ending on an epilogue.
 
Spike will be end up being either “forever alone” or he’ll be paired with someone he’s shown zero romantic connection to AKA anyone other than Rarity.

I couldn’t agree more. We were not prepared for this, and it seems like yet another bad major change. There was absolutely nothing that ever suggested Twilight was going to rule Equestria, since she’s already the Princess of Friendship. Plus, she already has enough responsibilities, and Celestia and Luna are immortal, so they literally have no reason to retire. Celestia says :
 
“This is Equestria’s longest period of harmony yet, so we have decided it is time for us to retire. I’ve seen how strong you’ve grown. I know that you are ready to take on this responsibility, Twilight.”
 
But here’s what I hear:
 
“I’m sick of all this work, let’s just foist off all our duties onto Princess Twilight and her already-packed schedule while we relax and do nothing.”
 
I’m just hoping it’s a ruse by Sombra or Cozy Glow or Chrysalis or another baddie to beat Twilight and her friends, and that Twilight doesn’t actually rule Equestria. That expression on Celestia’s face for a second definitely shows that something is not right, and I can’t wait to find out what.
