Use Zandronum, pretty much the same and actually improves on SKultag.

I’ve yet to find a giant stash of wads like Maximum Doom. The levels I find are nice and challenging though.
The gameplay mods like Samsara also breath some nice life into the game. Nothing quite like slaughtering demons with Duke’s Devestator.
Occasionally, and you’re right. It’s fun to sit down with a giant folder of .wads and try to pick out the gems from the rock pile.
