Imagine someone say: “Ey Lauren, can u kill Spike’s parents, plz? Cuz I think it’d be so cute if he got adopted by Celestia instead.”
Background Pony #390A
The question is, what happened to Spike’s parents? Having a character like Spike in the show is impossible. Lauren wouldn’t say that they “just left him on someone’s doorstep,” or they “just abandoned him,” or they “just died…”

Of course, those who don’t have this kind of headcanon may have various opinions about it.

1: They wonder how much it’s even worth to imagine Celestia being Spike’s mother because it’s just cute.

2: That anyone like Celestia, who’s a beautiful and powerful alicorn who raises the sun, wouldn’t fit as a mother for such a small, goofy baby-dragon like Spike who can only burp normal fire.

3: That this “Celestia is Spike’s mother” headcanon is only just about Spike himself.

4: They know that anyone like Celestia doesn’t become a mother/father for any creature whenever they’re just raising or looking after it.

People can have these kinds of headcanons about things like “Celestia is Spike’s mom” if they like. Though, Lauren did NOT say anything about “Celestia is Spike’s mother” when she suggested one of her ideas about Celestia raising Spike before Twilight took over once she became old enough.

Look… I apologize if I were too negative, and I never meant any harm, but I had to tell you somehow without that I’d be assumed to be that negative or anything about what I’ve said was true. You CAN imagine these kinds of things if you like as I said, although Faust mentioned that her ideas like this one about Celestia raising Spike were never meant to be considered canon at all. It does not make Celestia a mother for any new-born creature and she never had those “motherly” moments because it isn’t the same species and when you’re just looking after it for someone else. Twilight’s parents themselves might’ve been the ones who raised him since he totally seemed harmless and safe enough for them to take care of. That could’ve been one of Faust’s ideas, as well. Of course, none of those were proven or mentioned in the show, ever. (Faust never even said anything about Celestia was the mother to Spike, either.)

And I… probably shouldn’t have sounded too harsh on those fans too much about this Spike’s character development derailed the entire show fact because they wanted Spike’s abuse, bad treatments… to stop and see him do something good just for once. People (including Faust) can make mistakes without knowing what kind of catastrophic aftermath would happen, like about how Celestia was able to do this magic letter ability to Spike even though she said that dragons were completely mysterious and unknown to ponies. It’s smarter and makes more sense for Twilight to handle the letters herself.

I don’t want this to turn into a fight… and you don’t have to reply to me either.
MurtaughTheDragon

Just so you know and understand, everything I told you was true. It was NOT confirmed that Celestia raised Spike. Ever. Or that she had those “motherly” moments which random fans like to imagine. She NEVER had, and you DON’T do that, especially when it isn’t the same species… or when you’re taking care of it for someone else. And NONE of those were ever proved or mentioned in the show. I’ve noticed in a few fanfictions before which I haven’t or wanted to read about this kind of stuff, of course. Sure, they can imagine these things themselves if they like but get WAY completely carried away by directly boasted to random people that “Celestia “DID” raise Spike” things like it “DID” happen some places, fanfictions, and fan art.

Oh, just one more thing; how come Celestia was able to do this “letter breath” thing to Spike, as Faust also mentioned? Dragons were MYSTERIOUS to ponies and knew NOTHING about them, Faust said so herself. And WHY him? Creatures like dragons cannot have or use magic powers. And wasn’t Twilight herself supposed to send/receive letters herself since she’s Celestia’s student and a unicorn after all? Imagine when there’s a vital situation, she must report to Celestia and Spike’s not around… that’s why she’s gotta/supposed do that herself, and why it makes WAY more sense, smarter… especially in a show that’s about and based on ponies.

That’s not all. No offense on this either, but there are lots of things I’ve also discovered and always knew a very long time ago… It was Twilight herself all along who saved the Crystal Empire. She knew where to find the heart, she found the hidden passage to it, she told Spike to bring it back, risking herself by failing Celestia’s test…

The writers had that in mind the whole time until the fans suddenly wanted them to change that because they were just sick and tired of Spike’s abuse, horrible treatments, and how he mostly spent his appearances in the shadows in all the previous seasons. They wanted them to put an end to the damage on Spike’s role, treatments… but never realized or wanted to realize that they’ve damaged the entire SHOW themselves because of that.

They couldn’t learn to get used to it and were too sensitive over that. He was meant only to be the simple sidekick and a goofy character that provides comic relief, screws up, embarrassing himself… The episode “Princess Spike” where he completely messes up was one of his usual, typical roles, then learning his lessons… in “Secret of My Excess”… And in “Just for Sidekicks” where he looks after the Mane Six’s pets while they’re gone on adventures, no wonder why he was (supposed to) mostly left behind and only had few appearances throughout the show.

The show’s based on ponies, which means THEY are the ones who defeat villains, going on adventures… and the show derailed because of the changes in Spike the writers did because of those sensitive fans. The episode “Gauntlet of Fire” had major flaws, as well. I gotta say that the episode was written by the fans themselves. Twilight couldn’t handle some teenage dragons, (creatures who only could fly and breath fire, no magic, completely weak and harmless enough against powerful, magical ponies) but in other episodes like “Twilight’s Kingdom”, she confronts Tirek just fine, which proves that is just one of those stupid excuses from the fans to show Spike doing something good for once, just for once. Of course, he only hands over the specter to Ember.

The writers of the show had to do those catastrophic changes just so those Spike fans wouldn’t stop watching the show and would have fewer watchers (or probably no watchers at all) and all their hard work on it would’ve been for NOTHING. They’d CANCEL the entire show, throw it away straight in the trash can.

That was ONE of Faust’s ideas. She told; “I don’t know if a different backstory will ever be revealed so, as always, my ideas shouldn’t be considered canon.” In the show, it was never proved or mentioned.

Some fans out there still want to think that Celestia raised him, like the artist for this pic, (I don’t know if she/he does) even though this one of Faust’s ideas were NOT supposed to be canon at all, like any others. Like Twilight’s parents, they might’ve been the ones who raised him since any new-born creature like dragons who seemed harmless and safe enough for them to take care of. That could also be one of Faust’s ideas, as well.

Even if this was canon, Twilight was the one who hatched him and was supposed to take care of him herself. But she was only a filly, so Celestia just did it FOR her by simply only keeping him fed… anything whatever a young, baby creature just needs. Some fans even want to think that Celestia had her “motherly” moments, though the only things she did was just to make sure he gets fed, everything he needed, as I said. Sure, anyone can imagine that Celestia had her “motherly” moments if the like. But WHY? It doesn’t mean she has or had those kinds of acts or anything at all just because she looks after a new-born creature, someone like Spike, especially when it isn’t the same species… and when you’re taking care of it for someone ELSE.

No offense, but I did notice some fans in a few places who directly boasts this “Celestia “DID” raise Spike” thing like it “DID” happen or whatsoever, which proves that it has gone pretty far into their heads, and that’s damaging them, which also kinda bothers me a little tbh. I never even wanted to interfere with them and their thoughts face to face, and I’m also worried about how they or the fandom might end up with these random imaginations and all. There’s been too much drama and war with stuff like shipping, and so on. I’ve seen it, I don’t know if you have, but I sure did.

Be aware that Faust also said, “I don’t know if a different backstory will ever be revealed so, as always, my ideas shouldn’t be considered canon.”

But I understand that fans still want to think that if they want to, as long as it doesn’t go way too far into their heads.
