A better lawyer would have made a better deal.

Coco Channel surely has no interest in wasting time and money over something that ridiculous, too.
Again, it’s nothing to do with the lawyers and everything to do with “How much money will we spend on the name of a tertiary character in this show?” The math doesn’t make it worth arguing over.
That is not a compromise but a capitulation.
I think Hasbro needs better lawyers.
This pretty much was the compromise. Anything else would’ve involved tying up the lawyers with negotiations and, to Hasbro, that just wasn’t worth it.
Hasbro could have at least tried to negotiate a compromise.

I honestly doubt that any court would allow such an incredibly ridiculous lawsuit (especially if they just call her Coco and ignore the Pommel).
It may be a reference but that does not mean that their trade name is in any danger.
… no, I’m not saying anything bout the the Pommel part. But her name was meant as a play on Coco Chanel, the writers said as much. So just cutting it back to Coco likely wasn’t going to help with the lawsuit Chanel was threatening.
The movie “Coco” never made reference to Coco Chanel, so that’s a non-starter. The entire point was the Coco Pommel/Coco Chanel link.
To confuse Pommel with Channel is farfetched at best.
They also had no problem with Pixar.
The entire problem is that her name is a play on Coco Chanel. Just keeping her as Coco would not make the Chanel company happy, since they know what the inspiration was.
I doubt there would be a lawsuit at all.
At the very least they could simply call her Coco and forget the Pommel.

That wheel is nonsense and weird and if attached to a car, would be a terrible wheel. There is only one type of love. We dont need to see them making out on screen, since it’s not like we’ve seen that from the straight couples either. Lyra and Bonbon couldnt be any more clearly a couple at this point.
