Description

Here we can see the Equestrian Purple Bookhorse (Equus Librivorus) in it’s natural habitat. Seldom do we get the chance to observe this reclusive creature in it’s nest. Having just devoured it’s prey (an unsuspecting period drama) this magnificent literary predator is sleeping off it’s meal, secure in the knowledge that it’s weaponized adoribility will cause immediate cardiac arrest in any would-be predators that dare approach it. This defence mechanism is commonly referred to as the Hnnnng-effect.

Thanks, now I remember about the horn impalement. Funny since at the time she’d panic about being tardy yet she wouldn’t worry about a book she damaged? Then again I could think of something I worried about while ignoring other things, too.

Twilight has destroyed a few books (on accident) and not cared much about it, such as when her horn went through a book in an early episode, or when she didn’t take good care of the Friendship Journal.

Plus, this is an alternate Twilight that literally eats books, apparently.

Canonically, Twilight’s abused books since the first episode when she dropped a few but she didn’t obliterate them or rip pages out (or, like here, eat them as far as I recall.) Also, she was upset at Spike when he sneezed on that one in S1 Ep 24, “Owl’s Well that Ends Well.” I’m behind on episodes, though (my last one was somewhere in the last 6 episodes of S6.)

I don’t know… I doubt it. This lady wrote some really… specific books. About farms and farmers. Dozens of them. Rural dutch agrarian literature is a genre, I’m sorry to say.

It was the Annemarie trilogy by Annie Oosterbroek-Dutschun, a slice-of-life period drama about the life and love of a Dutch farmer’s wife and the hardships and simple pleasures of farm life in the early 1900’s.

I have since forgiven myself for hollowing it out.

Twilight has definitely been known to throw books around.

What people don’t really understand when they call Twilight “book horse” is that it’s not books she craves, but the knowledge they contain.

Yes, she’s OCD. But not to the degree of everything having to be absolutely perfect. You can’t learn things from books if you’re more concerned about the pages being dog-eared, after all. For Twilight, it’s about order. Which is why she’s such a stark contrast to Discord.

For Twilight, things just make sense when they’re in order. Which is why she gives up trying to understand Pinkie Pie so early…a pony so chaotic not even her mane is orderly.

Sci-Twi is actually a pretty stark contrast to Pony Twi here, as shown by her less tidy hair and her Doc Brown style garage laboratory. Sci-Twi still values organization, but in a more haphazard way that suggests she’s happy as long as she knows what she’s looking at.

So cute!
Also, the moment she opens her eyes and realizes what you did to that book…
Well, it won’t be pretty.
