The number of characters wouldn’t be half so bad if it weren’t for most of the new ones not being very good. Capper is vastly less charming than he’s supposed to be. The Storm King is an obnoxious, incompetent blowhard with no sense of menace to him. Grubber is annoying, unfunny, and generally useless, and I don’t know why they wasted screen time on him. Songbird Serenade was all right, but her role amounted to little more than a glorified cameo. Novo barely got any screen time, and for most of what she did have came across as apathetic and slightly bitchy. And for as dangerous as Tempest is supposed to be, she’s reliant on the resources at her disposal rather than anything innate to her; Give the blimp, the soldiers, and the petrifier bombs to pretty much anyone and they’ll present the same threat.
The writing is a dumpster fire compared to the TV series. The sheer number of characters alone makes my brain discard most of the movie. (Who here can name any of the pirate parrots other than Captain Celaeno?)

I did watch the movie. I have no idea what you’re talking about?
Congratulations, you didn’t watch the movie.
What the hay
If you wish to know the names of the parrot pirates, no sweat. Mullet, Murdock, Boyle, Lix Spittle. You’re welcome. ^^
wheeze
Overall? I don’t.

That sounded like you don’t like the actual movie at all.
I did that too.
