When I was younger we once had a hailstorm that ended right over our house so our back yard was full of fallen hail while the front yard was bright and sunny.

I remember my roommate back in collage asked me if he should park his car under the tree in the parking lot during a hail storm. I answered that question with another question; do you want your hood caved in by a large branch?

Bike helmet or head protection. Some storm chasers do it if they get caught in hail.
 
I assume this is snow turned sleet because Vinyl knows what hail is. Else I can imagine her in springtime during a severe thunderstorm looking outside, seeing 4” balls of ice falling from the sky, and going “Tavi, winter’s back! It’s a miracle” before wanting to go outside to make snowmen.
