Eros. The Choosing Stone is EROS. Well, Equestria is screwed… I mean, the Greek Gods were mostly known to be self-centered dUcks (Aephestos being a noticeable exception)…
@Kamazeustra
I mean, yeah, and more genuinely so than Homestuck was, even in act 1; The thing about having a shitload of readers all submitting commands is that you have so many commands to choose from that you can do pretty much whatever.
@Keith Mowz
Is Prequel actually a legit cyoa? The author throws down his own commands and overrides the commands he does get fairly often. I took it to be a traditional webcomic wearing a disguise.
What should i say?
Nice play on on the Greek Mythology. Now i unterstand why Anon look like Kratos in the Aftermate of the spider battle. It makes sense.
@Background Pony #5CB2
That stands for “Choose Your Own Adventure”, where the artist gives a few options for choices the character makes every page, and the comic’s readers vote for which one to choose.
@mathprofbrony
Eros is trapped in entirely different “stone” though, humans are in smooth spheres, Eros’s stone was merely a plug places between realm of his imprisonment and Equestria. His power even then leaked through it and corrupted the stone to work as his stationary avatar in Equestria. Eros indeed is the primordeal god and anon is indeed a human he just yanked out from the stone spheres that work as a safe repositories for human race to continue to exist in like in a matrix. Tartarus was canon in pony so I figured, way back when choosing stone was mentioned that maybe this had something to do with Eros and thus this comics plotline was born. And people who cry about my comic losing it’s way from slice of life do not maybe realize it, but this all was planned long ago already when i decided not to roll with CYOA. And even CYOA version of my comic would have had this background plan to it and peoples choices would have slowly lead to it.
@PonyPon
Well, according to myth, Tartarous wasn’t just a place, but was one of the Titans as well.
And Eros, AKA Cupid. Yeah that explains a lot.
I’m wondering if Pencils is using Hesiod’s versions of these entities, though, from whom the oldest entities in existence /period/ are Nyx, Erebus, and Tartarus, followed immediately by Eros.
In which case Eros is a ridiculously powerful entity that makes Titans and gods dance to his tune.
If Eros is of the same order of entity as Tartarus, which unlike humans has an ongoing presence in Equestria, then he wouldn’t be a human either. Of course, he was trapped in a stone, so my guess is he’s another human, just differently affected. Maybe mad, maybe lying.
(Personal headcanon having nothing to do with this comic strip, that I’ve had since we heard of Tartarus in Equestria: Eros actually made Equestria, and gave it the Elements of Harmony to protect it, in order to shelter creatures of Love from creatures of Darkness, the Void and the Abyss.)
Who cares about the return of a powerful primordial deity? The Pain Stars’ numbers are growing! This is a disaster!
Also, Celestia looks really cute being held like that. I hope Eros tickles her tummy.
@Dirty Bit
Wow, the Tales series greatly improved music-wise!

With regards to webcomics, stuff like Problem Sleuth, Ruby Quest, Homestuck and Prequel.
It’s kind of blossomed into it’s own subgenre on forums thanks to MS Paint Adventures in general.

Thanks for clarifying!

Not at all. Just a trolling, godlike figure.
I say godlike, because for all we know, this could be some meta-human who’s convinced himself to be Eros.
Heck, I wouldn’t be surprised if he acted like Gilgamesh from the Fate series.

He’s laying infront of the alter.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg. You should listen to the Tales of Berseria soundtrack.

He’s not gay: he’s flaming.
