Description
This was all animated in a 4 hour session. This is one of those cases where it took longer to render all of this out than it did to actually do the animation work. I could upload another timelapse since I have the entire session locally recorded if you guys are interested.
Now that you mention it, can you delete everything made by me before the month of april?
kidding, kidding
But yeah, I always like to keep all of my animations public. I have some from way back in the day still on my YouTube channel that I think are absolutely horrid, but I keep it there to show how far I’ve come.
Yes, all of this! Speaking as an artist, it’s sometimes good to look at one’s art and also appreciate that even if one is better now, some older pieces still really stand on their own.
Like this, for instance. I still smile at this. I love how fluid her expression is!
I agree with @Meanlucario. Being able to look back at old things and think “Wow, this could totally be better if I had just done this and this, etc” is a sign that you’re improving.
And it provides a nice visual display of growth as you develop. Seeing your work slowly get better and better, or the style slowly evolving as time goes on~
I can’t tell you how frustrating it is when an artist asks us to remove most of their older work because “it’s not good enough anymore”.
I sometimes dream of nuking half of my dA gallery on this principle.
But then I realize it’d be too much work and I might as well leave it as is for posterity and progress comparison.
Well said
Most artist/animators hate their older stuff when they improve. Still, doesn’t hurt to have a reminder of where you started.
rest looks awesome x3
the more I appreciate those works, very well done!
well, guess who feels retarded now

Something, something Andromeda.
You won’t be seeing any of that from me. Whenever I feel my model is ready to be publicly released, there will probably be some people who’ll satisfy you with that by modifying the model or something… But that isn’t going my thing at any point.
I struggled to find any sort of complaint; everything else is smoothed perfectly, with a really nice texture to the image, and a great “weight” to the movement being given. I especially enjoy the little shift in her foreleg as her head lifts slightly before settling back into place.
Absolutely glorious.
Edited because: wrong word.
