@Background Pony #B1F1
Visions of the untamed sugarbowl hellscape outside their safe little suburbia, perhaps? It’s still G1, after all.
There are ponies who we know cross between the worlds. Tuneful the Bard and the Glow’n’Shows at least. I’m imagining some scrappy Berrytown and Apple Loving Family kids investigating in the manner of Stranger Things now. Not sure if mystery or dystopia though. Why not both?
Worryingly, this all has a ton of RPG potential: PCs struggling to relocate friendly yet reality-warping creatures from the Other Side while dodging government researchers and Deviance Patrols. All as the walls break down a little more each day. And you’d get to use the word “pasteldritch” at times too, which is probably a bonus.
I’m surprised you were able to tweak the original image to the point of actual legibility - this is pretty much spot-on in terms of the actual comic’s appearance.
The brown unicorn in Patch’s fantasy has some interesting implications on the society of the Tales universe and why all civilians are earth ponies - does their government and society demonize magic and ‘abnormality’? If so, why? Pretty dark for Tales, I know - I guess what we see here could most likely be the work of Patch’s untethered and overactive imagination - even if she has never seen a demonic unicorn as far as I know in any Tales continuity (although she has at least seen a unicorn, unlike everyone’s favourite accident-prone hero Bon Bon).

Patch trying to take a shower but being bothered by nightmares she’s had. Well, out of all those monsters, at least “Mother” isn’t around, if you catch my drift…
