I wonder if twilight is gonna end of snapping and doing something insane, or if someone is going to intervene when they find out what’s going on here
 
Also on a final note about the whole “consciousness” thing: another way to imagine the cosnciousness, if you consider it to be a continuous subjective experience, would be imagining it as like a blob of clay shaped into something, you can completely change its shape but it’s still the same blob of clay as before

this comic just gets me every time, because you can tell anon knows she’s going to be punished in the first panel, but she’s so desperate for affection, she doesn’t feel like she has any choice.

doesn’t matter if he’s actually dead or not. twilight hasn’t asked herself these questions, because she’s afraid of the answer, so she’s going to be worried that she killed him, regardless of what fancy philosophizing says about it.
 
I personally think a soul is a complex, continuous, four-dimensional shape, and the less the current shape of her is based on anon’s previous shape, the more dead anon is. a “transformation” that takes away everything he used to be is like disintegrating him, then dragging a filly off the street, plunking her down at that spot, and claiming that anon transformed into her. but what really matters isn’t what I think. it’s what twilight fears to be the truth.

His consciousness isn’t dead. His memories are gone, irretrievable, and replaced with false memories, and this can never be undone, BUT his consciousness isn’t dead.

I’m pretty sure it isn’t murder if anon’s consciousness was never destroyed and still continues, it just had its memories erased and rewritten. in order to be “death” either anon’s soul would’ve had to have been remove and replaced, or their consciousness would’ve had to have been annihilated and replaced. They’re still technically anon, they just don’t remember it.

in this version of the story, twilight didn’t know the spell would affect anon’s mind, and continues to deny that it has, because to do otherwise would be to admit she’s killed someone. that sort of denial takes its toll, and as anon continues to “pretend,” twilight lashes out with increasing violence, thereby gaining even more guilt to keep her from ever coming clean.

But still, assuming the likely possibility she thinks that she’s just acting like a little filly as a cruel prank or to guilt-trip twilight then her emotional reaction would make sense, as not only is she assuming she kinda deserved this but she doesn’t think of her as a child, she thinks of her as an adult, and people tend to have less empathy towards adults than they do to children do to expecting them to be able to handle more

psychopaths in my opinion suffer a complete and total lack of empathy, though many become very good at pretending to empathize to protect themselves. they also are extremely unable to comprehend long term consequences. if starlight was laughing at anon, or insulting her, she’d just be being a huge jerk. at least she would understand what anon is going through, even if she found it hilarious. but you know, just… staring at her like a thing, and calmly telling a sobbing child how she’s supposed to behave, that’s the kind of creepy shit that you run into around psychopaths.
 
not that I’ve known many, but… yeah. this pic and its companion really gave me that creepy psycho vibe from starlight. it’s hard to say from just two pages though.

Starlights behavior doesn’t really fit the behavior of a psychopath, if she were one she’d be more likely to be laughing at anon, insulting her, or completing ignoring her, in this case she is only showing a lack of compassion because like twilight she also thinks it’s an act. So starlight’s behavior is more along the lines of difficulty recognizing emotions. Although you do have a point about twilight, she could just be angry because she thinks anon is trying to guilt-trip her over something she already probably has guilt-related nightmares about

if twilight were the psychopath, she’d be pleased that anon is acting like the little filly that she’s supposed to be. whereas if twilight had actual compassion, haunted by the horrible mistake she made, that she doesn’t want to admit is true, then she’d get angry at anon for “pretending.”
 
starlight doesn’t understand anything about what’s going on, or care. has no emotional reaction to anon’s distress, acting like they’re just chatting over tea. that’s p. much textbook psychopathy.

Have they considered that maybe anon is now mentally a filly as well considering they have the underdeveloped brain of one, it’s only a matter of time before any semblance of higher-judgement and more adult-like behavior is completely destroyed

I never thought of the scenario where anon loses her mind, and twilight has no idea, and thinks anon’s playing a trick on her.

i think too deeply about it but, maybe twilight have a secret because why she hit a little filly,OR maybe filly anon  
tried to do something sneaky.
