The Gamma Gun is pretty strong with mods and perks. The only real drawbacks to it are that you sort of need Nuclear Physicist to make it viable, and you usually have to buy the ammo which can get pretty expensive. Still, it makes quick work of most enemies. Lorenzo’s artifact also has the benefit of stun-locking foes, which can be useful when fighting things like Mirelurk Queens.

Honestly I found the Deathclaws to be much easier to kill in this one than New Vegas. Hm.. I’ll have to whip one out then. I haven’t been using them myself and I need to find something to damage some of the stronger enemies I’ve been fighting lately other than the Spray n’ Pray.

Actually, Gamma Guns are effective against most foes, people just tend to read the ‘radiation damage’ thing and assume it’s super situational. The damage a Gamma Gun does bypasses radiation immunity as direct damage, so it is effective against robots and most wasteland animals, and it deals explosive damage on top of that. Of course, rad resistance is still in effect, so super mutants will be able to take a few shots from a Gamma Gun, and ghouls will be outright healed by it unless you have Lorenzo’s artifact, the zeta dish, or the electric signal carrier modded on, in which case they will take direct damage instead. If you have Nuclear Physicist and Demolitions Expert, this weapon becomes very formidable, enough to bring down a Super Mutant Behemoth fairly quickly. Of course, power armor and Deathclaws are still a problem, but when aren’t they?

I dunno about that. I’m getting a very Fallout 4 vibe from this and that would make that a gamma gun she is using. If so that gun would work pretty well only on humans really.

now, if only that gun had any use gainst enemies that are not powerarmorless human…
