And the 1996 TV version :P
I guess.
Isn’t him having “spikes” of greed (that he’d try to keep in check) as opposed to being always that way, what makes him work as Banner? Its obvious they’re not gonna be the exact same in every minuscule detail, but its still the best fit considering what losing control does to them (in their RL), and how they try to supress it.
I’m also not sure how him being the only dragon who doesn’t accept greed as a part of him (thus, it coming out in “bursts”) changes the situation. Different origin story. Instead of it being due to an accident, its because he belongs to a “race of hulks”, but since he was raised with different morals, he can’t control his changes.
But the end result it still basically the same, isn’t it?
Spike has, but he’s literally the only one we’ve seen have spikes as opposed to just being generally selfish. It’s something he would want to clamp down on.
I guess because most of the fandom thinks better of him than that. It’s why I hated Fluttershy being the Hulk analog.

Not getting you. Yes, greed isn’t the same as anger, and it usually isn’t as common, but Spike is a dragon and dragons in MLP (and most depictions) are prone to bursts of greed if given provocation. How would that not be easy to sell? Spike is normally calm and generous, but show him something valuable he might covet, and he loses control and transforms. I really don’t think its such a big deal :/

Because the specific emption is a bit harder to sell?
Anyone can be angry, it takes a certain type to be greedy. And Spike is not that certain type, for better or worse.
How is Hulkspike not a more common thing in Avenger/Pony art?
