I got her name from here, it’s always possible her name was misread. :P
On MLP Wiki, they named her Belle and not Bette. And I guess the Name Mare E. Belle is an allusion to the english name Marybelle.

Eh, no reason we can’t use both. I do like the fandom name better, personally, but there’s no harm in calling her either. Basically the same thing as Bon Bon. Real name, Sweetie Drops. Alias, Bon Bon.

That’s awful, Sweet is one of those overused words and then it’s just the object’s name after it? No way!
Since there are too many “Sweet X ponies already let’s reserve that word for names actually based on phrases where it is needed.
