It feels like its a Spike episodes in which he finds, helps, and eventually befriends the changeling, and as the hero of the Crystal Empire everyone else might trust his decision. He seems to be making friends with species other than ponies this season.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he actually talked Chrysalis and the changeling out of attacking the ponies. I feel like he’ll make a great ambassador has well as a great hero.

There’s such a thing as deep cover. I bet being in deep cover for over a horse decade or two would give Sunburst’s changeling a shitton of intel.
@Background Pony Number 17
Nah. Changeling woudn’t help them repairing the Crystal Heart nor would know so much about Starlight and his childhood. If Sunburst is a changeling then it’s only in this episode and the real Sunburst is still there trapped for the course of that episode.

>Vert defeats Gelorum with help for the fourth time
Booooring, when will Kadeem get a chance to be the douche bag since the second time they won?
@ArrJaySketch
Likely if it is not a mistake, Sunburst was likely visiting Starlight and is now going back and Twilight and Spike join him because they were going to see Flurry at the time.
@ArrJaySketch
There’s a chance it’s a mistake. There’s an equal chance it’s not. To be certain is to see a clip or screen some days before the airdate as usual… Giving Sunburst more screen time wouldn’t be too bad, though. X3
@RektPony
Posted that in the second page of comments myself. It was under spoilers, but I guess it isn’t spoiled anymore.
As said before the old “ally warns of a master-of-disguise spy loose, everyone accuses each other, then original ally who gives the warning turns out to be the spy all along” plotline has some heavy vibes here and I wouldn’t be surprised if they went that route. That goes double if he’s never found out allowing what could be Chrysi’s possible invasion in the season finale to come to pass.
@Background Pony #1ACC
I’m thinking they going to get some kind of twist. Like have Sunburst, Spike and Twilight look for the spy and finding that Sunburst is already tied up in his room revealing the first Sunburst as the changleing all along who wanted to lure Twilight into crystal empire(and he didn’t want Glimmer or other friends to assist her for that reason)
What I could personally imagine that the Changeling one we seen in the prelude , is not the same that we will see in this episode. Thus, the developers would play a trick and probably it would be amazing, when they make changelings really the Season Final opponents.
@thps48
What if Flash Sentry is just a generic pony who lives somehwere in Appleloosa and is already married. Changeling could just take his form and tried to become a guard in order to spy for Chrysalis. Why is he the ONLY non crystal guard in Crystal Empire?
Indeed. My theory on there being a secret spy was busted, but meh, no biggie.
Still, I get the feeling that Chrysi may use him, even if he does turn out to be good-intentioned, for something nefarious.

Or oh, having Shining Armor and Cadance double-team Chrysalis!
… Not that way.
It’s all part of a plot by Chrysalis to get back at Cadance and Shining Armor by kidnapping Flurry Heart.
The season ender is going to have an Epic Beatdown to end all Epic Beatdowns when Cadance finds out and confronts Chrysalis.

YES please!
Oh, no argument there! I’m most curious about the changeling bit. I’m excited, and I want this to be good. c:
