I don’t see anything wrong with having a little hope, even if the show staff have come out and said it isn’t happening. I think the problem comes how toxic some of these guys can be.

But that still kind of wrong, somthing might get cut for time but still be canon, so to say that simply being cut make it not canon anymore would then be wrong.
Now if that bit was cut early on then saying that makes sense, but if it had made it all the way into the movie only to get cut out of the final cut for time then it would still very likely be canon.

What I’m saying is if something is taken out entirely from a film via the “Deleted Sunset Scene”, it’s not canon. If it’s brought up in a future skit or EG4 then there you go, it happened. But until then, it still remains only as a thought/idea.

Well they’re going to need to bring it up for EG4 or even a skit. Maybe have that deleted scene take place in the film and/or have Sunset Return to Equestria. Im just getting a bit skeptical at this point (maybe a bit too skeptical). But we’ll just have to wait and see.

Your reading comprehension really does need work.

“it was a thought at one point” You mean the exact thing I was saying? Glad you figured out the puzzle.

It was a thought they had and it’s one they could just as easily return to.

If a scene is cut from a movie, it means it’s not canon anymore,

I’m not saying that scene’s canon or anything, but I’m pretty sure basing the canonicity on whether it was cut or not isn’t the best way to go around it. After all, the creator of a movie could still come out and say it’s canon even though it was cut.

@Mrmildock
I never said the scene itself was canon, but apparently you lack reading comprehension.

My point by bringing up that scene scene is that it was something the writers had thought of. It was most likely cut due to time and detracting from the main story rather than “eeeehh, we don’t want to do this anymore.”

If a scene is cut from a movie, it means it’s not canon anymore, also I’d really appreciate it if you didn’t do that, at this point I could give two f||-words|| what they do. When a scene like the homesick sunset scene is taken out, it means that it’s no longer part of the movie/series and thus isn’t canon.

@Mrmildock
I did acknowledge the scene got cut, but not canon anymore? I’m gonna need a source on that, otherwise I’m just going to take it as someone rationalizing why a canon character from the movies will “never ever” appear in the show.
Background Pony #13C0
@Ihhh
I never said it broke continuity, but it was an asspull with poor explanation.

They could easily explain Sunset showing up, it’s not as difficult as you think.

“I was a little homesick.” One line explains it all. We already know they have the portal between worlds. Explain to me how Sunset showing up breaks continuity if everything is already set up for them to travel between worlds?

Tell me, what continuity does twilight having a brother break? It’s not like she said “I’m an only child” in an earlier episode, and even if it does create logical problems, it still can’t be as bad as sunset randomly appearing for no adequately explained reason.
Background Pony #13C0
@Inkan1969
any explanation they could come up with in such a limited timeframe would necessarily feel like an ass pull and create more questions than it answers.

“My brother is getting married!”

I also don’t see how it would break continuity in the slightest. There was a scene planned for Friendship Games where she’s homesick, but it got cut. Point is we know the writers have thought about it.
